beroNet FXS as an extension in 3CX
These guides are provided as is and no longer updated. Please contact vendor for support on how to connect them to 3CX
Introduction
In many cases an analog door module, an old analog phone or fax machine* or a bell must be registered to 3CX as an internal extension. This document will guide you through the process of registering an FXS port on your beroNet gateway, as an extension in the 3CX Phone System.
Note:
- In this case the “extension” inside of 3CX must be a “Fax Extension” and not a regular extension. The registration status is visible from the system “Extension” node and not “Phones”. Adapt the guide accordingly.
- The device must be local to 3CX, in the same subnet and/or locally routed subnet (including site to site VPN)
Step 1: Create Internal Extension
All extension numbers and IP’s that are shown in the screenshots should be replaced by the corresponding IP of your 3CX Phone System, Extension numbers etc. For the purposes of this guide we will create extension 104 on FXS Port 1 and the 3CX IP is 192.168.9.171
In the 3CX Management Console navigate to “Extensions” and create an extension by clicking “+Add”. Take a note of the extension number, authentication ID and the password of the created extension.
Step 2: Create new SIP Account
- On beroNet web interface navigate to “SIP” → “SIP” and click the “Add” button and select SIP Profile “VoIP PBX” 3CX .
- Enter the information from Step 1 accordingly
Name = Extension Number (e.g 104)
Server Address = IP of 3CX (e.g. 192.168.9.171)
User = ID (e.g 104)
Secret = Password
- Click “Save” and then “activate” in order to activate the SIP account. At this point the extension should be shown in 3CX in the Phones tab.
Step 3: Create DialPlan Analog -> SIP
- On beroNet web interface navigate to “Dialplan” and press on “Add” to create a new routing rule.
- Define for extension 104 the outbound call rule as shown
(Abstract: When a call arrive on ANALOG port 1 route this to the SIP account p:104 when the dialed number is “whatever” and set the calling party number to 3CX extension 104)
- Save
Step 4: Create DialPlan SIP -> Analog
- On beroNet web interface navigate to “Dialplan” and press on “Add” to create a new routing rule.
- Define for extension 104 the inbound call rule as shown
(Abstract: When a call arrive from the SIP account 104 registered to 3CX and the called number is 104 send the call to the ANALOG port 1)
- Save
Step 5: Validate and Activate
After adding the sip account and two dial plans click on “activate” in order to activate the settings you have just created. If you have more than just the two rules, ensure that those are placed on position 1 and 2 in the dialplan order.
