Manually Configuring Your EOL Yealink T19P, T20P, T21P, T22P, T26P, T28P, T32G, T38G Phones

Yealink T2 Series

Important

These end of life (EOL) phones cannot be provisioned securely via 3CX. You can still use these phones, but they must be manually configured. Keep in mind:

  • You cannot re-provision or reboot the phone remotely
  • You cannot upgrade the firmware
  • Be sure to use the suggested AUTH ID and password by 3CX as these passwords are very secure.

Step 1: Setup the Phone in 3CX

Setting up a phone in 3CX

  1. Go to the Users tab in the Admin Console
  2. Go to the “User” for which you want to add the phone.
  3. Go to the “IP Phone” tab. Click “Configure a phone” to add a phone.
  4. Select Generic IP Phone
  5. Select “Normal Phone” and enable the option to “Configure your phone manually without provisioning”
  6. A pop-up window will appear with the Authentication ID and Password. Depending on your installation you will also see:
  1. If on the local network: The 3CX Phone System FQDN and Port number
  2. If in the cloud: The SBC or Router phone’s IP address and Port number.  

Step 2: Login to the Yealink T19P, T20P, T21P, T22P, T26P, T28P, T32G, T38G phones

You can configure your Yealink EOL phone manually using the phone’s web UI. To login you will need your phone’s IP address and the login details.

Step 3: Enter the 3CX Extension SIP Account details

Enter the 3CX Extension SIP Account details

From the “Account > Register” section configure as per below:

  1. “Label” and “Display Name” fields: Enter your user’s name
  2. “Register Name”: Enter the “Authentication ID”.
  3. “User Name”: Enter the extension number
  4. “Password” Enter the “Authentication Password”.
  5. “Server Host”: Enter “Registrar Hostname or IP”.
  6. “Port”: Enter the “Registrar SIP port”.
  7. “Enable Outbound Proxy Server”: Set to “Enable”
  8. “Outbound Proxy Server”: Enter the “Outbound Proxy (SBC) Address” and the associated Port.
  9. Click Confirm, the phone should reboot and register.

Known limitations

  1. No support for CTI via uaCSTA
  2. No direct UI login
  3. No Hot desking
  4. Incompatible with secure "SSL Transport and Ciphers" setting
  5. Unable to perform Attended Transfer when the caller is "Anonymous"
  6. T21P Extension setting must be set to “PBX Delivers Audio”
  7. For Yealink T32G and T38G the first 3 and 6 BLFs are locked to Line Keys.
