Manually provision your Snom M700 DECT system

Important
- You can not provision or reboot the phone remotely.
- You can not upgrade the firmware. However since they are EOL phones there will never be any new firmware anyway.
- Be sure to use the suggested AUTH ID and password by 3CX as these passwords are very secure.
- Used phones need to be reset first. Follow the steps on how to factory reset your snom DECT phone.
- Upgrade its firmware to the latest 3CX supported version. Follow the steps on how to update the firmware of your snom DECT phone.
- In case you are planning to provision in a Multi-Cell environment start by reading the Multi-Cell Setup Guide of snom before provisioning! You can also watch the video: snom Dect system setup.
Step 1: Setup the snom M700 DECT in 3CX
- Go to “Admin > Voice and Chat”.
- Click on “+Add DECT/FXS”.
- Select your model and enter the device’s MAC address then click ”Next”.
- Select the provisioning method according to your installation type:
- If your instance is in the cloud or outside of the office, choose “Connect via SBC / router phone” and choose the one local to your device, then click “Next”.
Important: The “Router Phone” or SBC must already be up and running. - If your installation is on-premises, choose “Local LAN / VPN” and choose your system FQDN or local IP, then click “Next”.
- Assign your users and click “Add DECT base station”.

Step 2: Create the M700 base station
- Open the web UI.
- Go to “Servers > Add Server”.
- Set your “Server Alias”
- “Registrar”: Enter your PBX’s FQDN. It’s the “Registrar hostname or IP” accompanied by the “Registrar SIP Port” ex. Your.public.fqdn:5060
- If you are using an SBC, enter the local IP address and Port of your 3CX SBC in the “Outbound Proxy” field .
- Press save at the bottom of the page
Step 3: Enter the SIP credentials for each handset
- Go to “Extensions > Add extension”.
- Fill in the following with the info you retrieved from 3CX above:
- “Line name”: The Extension’s number
- “Extension”: The Extension’s number
- “Authentication User Name”: The Authentication ID
- “Authentication Password”
- “Display name”: The name of the user
- “Server”: choose the server you created on the previous step.
- Press Save
- Repeat this procedure to add more extensions.
- Now you are ready to pair your Handset.
