How to configure Polycom SoundPoint, SoundStation and VVX EOL models

Important
Due to a security issue with DHE ciphers, these end of life (EOL) phones cannot be provisioned securely via 3CX. You can still use these phones, but they must be manually configured. Keep in mind:
- You cannot re-provision or reboot the phone remotely.
- You cannot upgrade the firmware.
- Be sure to use the suggested AUTH ID and password by 3CX as these passwords are very secure.
Step 1: Upgrade to the Required firmware
The below phones need to run on the latest tested firmware only. To ensure that the phones are running this firmware:
- Download the support file found below depending your model.
- Find the provisioning folder of your 3CX Install – by default it is something like:
C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\XXXXXX.
Where XXXXXX is the randomly generated folder name of 8 to 12 characters. - Place the content of the zip into this folder.
Polycom SoudPoint 320, 330
These phones have been tested with 3CX Phone System V14 SP3 with the following firmware only:
- Polycom 320 - SIP Firmware 3.3.5
- Polycom 330 - SIP Firmware 3.3.5
- Polycom 3.3.5 support files
Polycom SoudPoint 4000
These phones have been tested with 3CX Phone System V15 SP1 with the following firmware only:
- Polycom 4000 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 3.1.8 support files
Polycom SoundPoint 321, 331, 335, 450, 550, 560, 650, 670
These phones have been tested with 3CX Phone System V15 SP1 with the following firmware only:
- Polycom 321 - SIP Firmware 4.0.10
- Polycom 331 - SIP Firmware 4.0.10
- Polycom 335 - SIP Firmware 4.0.10

Step 2: Factory Reset the IP Phone
Before provisioning the IP phone, the phone must be brought back to factory defaults in case the device has residual settings of a previous configuration. To reset the device follow these guides on how to factory reset Polycom SoundPoint IP phones, Polycom SoundStation IP phones and Polycom VVX EOL models.
Step 3: Configuring the provisioning server via the Polycom web interface
- Open the extension where the phone was provisioned to and take a copy of the provisioning URL from the Management Console.
- Go to the phone’s Web Interface and “Login As Admin” (default password is 456).
- Navigate to “Settings” -> “Provisioning Server.”
- Set “Server Type” to HTTP.
- In “Server Address” enter the provisioning URL taken in step 1.
- Clear the fields of “Server User” and “Server Password.”
- Press “Save” in the bottom of the page and confirm the changes.
Known Limitations
Note that these phones can not be used from a remote location or in combination with a 3CX in the cloud.
- No PnP Support
- No STUN Support
- No Full CTI Support (Make Call Only)
- Manual DST Support
- No Distinctive Ringing for external, queues or ivrs
- No Speed Dial (including Profile and Queue status) or Shared Parking function keys
Additional for Polycom 320 & 330:
- No SBC Support
- No BLF Functionality
- No Admin Password Provisioning
- No LCD Languages
- It is incompatible with the 3CXPhone option “Enable PUSH for smartphones”
Additional for Polycom VVX 300, 400, 410, 500, 600:
- Video possible but no support can be provided.
- Distinctive ringing works only for numbers not listed in the directory.
- Multicast Paging Groups are not provisionable.
- Do not support more than 400 Phonebook entries
Additional for Polycom 321, 331, 335, 450, 550, 560, 650 & 670:
- No SBC Support
- BLF Functionality (on applicable models)
- No Extension Monitoring
- No Shared Parking Orbit
- No Speed Dial
Additional for Polycom 5000, 6000 & 7000:
- Multicast Paging Groups are not provisionable.
