Manually Configuring Fanvil EOL IP Phones
Fanvil iW30
Important
Due to a security issue with DHE ciphers, these end of life (EOL) phones cannot be provisioned securely via 3CX. You can still use these phones, but they must be manually configured. Keep in mind:
- You cannot re-provision or reboot the phone remotely.
- You cannot upgrade the firmware.
- Be sure to use the suggested AUTH ID and password by 3CX as these passwords are very secure.
- Used phones that were previously connected to another PBX system need to be reset first. See how to do this here.
Step 1: Setup the phone in 3CX
- Go to the Users tab in the Admin Console
- Go to the “User” for which you want to add the phone.
- Go to the “IP Phone” tab. Click “Configure a phone” to add a phone.
- Select Generic IP Phone
- Select “Normal Phone” and enable the option to “Configure your phone manually without provisioning”
- A pop-up window will appear with the Authentication ID and Password. Depending on your installation you will also see:
- If on the local network: The 3CX Phone System FQDN and Port number
- If in the cloud: The SBC or Router phone’s IP address and Port number.
Step 2: Login to the Fanvil phone web interface
Now you need to login to the phone's web interface. If the phone was previously provisioned via 3CX, then you can go to the phone's web interface from the Management Console. Use the username and password configured in the Management Console. If they werenot, you will have to obtain the IP via the phone interface and use that.
Step 3: Enter the SIP credentials
- Go to the “Line > SIP > Basic Settings” section:
- “Username”: Enter the extension number.
- “Display Name”: Enter the user’s name.
- “Authentication name”: Enter the “Authentication ID”.
- “Password”: Enter the “Authentication Password”.
- “Activate” field: Select to enable the account.
- “SIP Proxy Server Address”: Enter your PBX’s FQDN, which is the “Registrar Hostname or IP”.
- “SIP Proxy Server Port”: Enter the “Registrar SIP Port” number.
- If registering via an SBC:
- “Outbound Proxy add.”: Enter “Outbound Proxy (SBC) Address”.
- “Outbound Proxy port”: Enter “Outbound Proxy (SBC) Port” of your 3CX SBC.
- “Realm” field: Enter the FQDN address accompanied by the SIP port e.g. Your.public.fqdn:5560.
- Apply the changes.

Configuring an intercom device (iW30)
- To be able to configure an infrastructure device, such as an iW30, you need to find its IP using iDoor Phone Network Scanner Utility to scan your network.
- DHCP is disabled on the Fanvil iW30 Speaker. To enable it:
- Factory reset your device. Press the “Reset” button on the device for 5 seconds. Once released the device will reboot.
- Connect the device’s PC port to a PC configured with a suitable static IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.120.
- Now login to the device’s web interface using the default “admin / admin” credentials via its default IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.128 .
- Go to “Network”, change the setting to “DHCP” and click on “Apply”.
- Reboot the device.
- Now login and enter the SIP authentication credentials.
