Firmware Upgrade of Polycom VVX Phones
Supported Models: Polycom VVX 101/150, 201/250, 301/311/350, 401/411/450, 501 & 601
This guide outlines how to upgrade the firmware of a Polycom IP phone using the device’s own web interface. This step is required prior to the provisioning of the phone to ensure that the minimum required features are implemented into the device's firmware.
Upgrade Firmware
To manually upgrade the firmware for your supported Polycom VVX:
- Point your browser to https://<Phone’s IP Address>.
- Enter the password (default is “456”).
- Go to “Utilities” >> “Software Upgrade”.
- Select “Poly Hosted Server” and then click on “Check for Updates”.
- Go to the Supported Firmwares page, find the firmware version for your device, then select it from the drop-down menu.
- Click on “Install”.
- The phone reboots to install the required firmware.
Manually upgrade Polycom EOL VVX
The below phones need to run on the latest tested firmware only. To ensure that the phones are running this firmware:
- Download the support file found below depending your model.
- Find the provisioning folder of your 3CX Install – by default it is something like:
C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\XXXXXX.
Where XXXXXX is the randomly generated folder name of 8 to 12 characters. - Place the content of the zip into this folder.
Polycom SoundPoint 301, 501, 600, 601, 4000
These phones have been tested with 3CX Phone System V15 SP1 with the following firmware only:
- Polycom 301 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 501 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 600 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 601 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 4000 - SIP Firmware 3.1.8
- Polycom 3.1.8 support files
Polycom VVX 300, 310, 400, 410, 500, 600
These phones have been tested with 3CX Phone System V15.5 with the following firmware only:
- Polycom VVX 300 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom VVX 310 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom VVX 400 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom VVX 410 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom VVX 500 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom VVX 600 - SIP-Firmware 5.6.0
- Polycom 5.6.0 support files
