Configuring a Bandwidth Global SIP Trunk
Step 1: Sign-Up and Trunk Creation
- Set up an account with Bandwidth and log in to the portal.
- Click on “Get Numbers” to purchase DIDs.
- Go to “Settings”, select “Voice URIs” and click on “New”. This will generate a URI that links the DIDs to 3CX.
Configure your Voice URI as “{E164}@(SIP domain)”.
Example: “{E164}@example.3cx.com”
You can also use the public IP of your 3CX (if static).
Example: “{E164}@1.1.1.1”
- Once the URI is generated, go to “Numbers”.
- Click on “My Numbers” from the dropdown box and select your number.
- Link your Voice URI to your number by clicking on “Basic” in the top right corner, expand “Voice URI'' and select your URI from the dropdown.
- Select “Voice” from the same menu.
- Choose the appropriate codecs and set DTMF value to RFC2833.
- Go to “Settings” then “Outbound” from the dropdown.
- Click on “Generate New Password”.
- Make a note of your credentials. You’ll need them to set up your trunk in 3CX.
Step 2: Configuring your SIP Trunk with 3CX
- Go to the 3CX Web client and follow the guide on how to configure a SIP trunk.
- Enter the main trunk number in international format (e.g. 447975777666).
