Configuring a Swisscom Smart Business Connect Internet Trunk
Step 1. General tab configuration
- Go to the 3CX Web client and follow the guide on how to configure a SIP trunk
- Enter the main trunk number and DIDs in the E164 number format, for example +41123456789
- Under the Account details enter your Authentication ID, Authentication password and 3-way authentication ID.
- The “Registrar/Server” should be “strunkpub.join.swisscom.ch” unless instructed otherwise by Swisscom.
Step 2. Options tab Configuration
- If your server is behind NAT (not a full public machine) then add the local IP of the 3CX PBX machine under the “Select which IP to use in 'Contact' (SIP) and 'Connection'(SDP) fields” option by selecting “Use This IP address” from the dropdown menu.
- Expand the ”Caller ID Control” and add your 6-digit customer domain ID under the “Default Outbound Caller ID” field. This is mandatory for outbound calls to work.
- The rest of the options are preconfigured and should not be changed to ensure that everything is working properly.
Conditions and limitations
To perform a successful outbound call each user extension in 3CX must have an Outbound Caller ID configured otherwise outbound calls will fail. Alternatively an Outbound Caller ID needs to be set in the Outbound rule that will be used for your Swisscom Smart Business Internet trunk.
Swisscom Smart Business Connect Internet trunks are configured to use only TLS/SRTP so communication is fully encrypted.
