Configuring SIP.US SIP Trunk

Step 1: Create your trunk

  1. Sign up to the SIP.US website. Once you’re logged into  you can start creating your trunk:

  1. Login to your account in the SIP.US portal
  2. Go to “SIP Trunking” → “SIP Trunks”.
  3. Press on the “Add New Trunk” option, at the bottom of the page.
  4. Set the “Identifier”, e.g. “3CX Trunk 1”, then press “Submit”.
  5. Navigate  to “SIP Trunking > SIP Trunks” and find your trunk:
  1. Authentication ID: “Trunk #” value in the portal.
  2. Authentication Password: “Password” value in the portal. You will have to press “Show Password” to reveal the password.

Step 2: Purchase DIDs

To acquire DIDs and associate them with the Trunk you created:

  1. Go to “SIP Trunking > Order Telephone Numbers”. Choose from the various available packages.
  2. Navigate to “SIP Trunking > Telephone Numbers” and select your number.
  3. Press on the “Edit” icon.
  4. In the “Primary” column select the Identifier that you set for your Trunk,e.g. “3CX Trunk 1”.
  5. Press “Submit”.
  6. Repeat the steps for every number.

Step 3: Configuring your SIP trunk with 3CX

  1. Go to the 3CX Web client and follow the guide on how to configure a SIP trunk.
  2. Enter the main trunk number as E164.  For example if your number is (888)-233-5678, it should be entered as +18882335678

Step 4: How to make National calls

  1. For calls within the US, you must dial the number in the 11 digit format. For example: 18882335678

Step 5: How to make International Calls

  1. First enable International calling
  1. Go to “SIP Trunking > International Calling”.
  2. From the dropdown menu select “INTL-DEFAULT WORLDWIDE”.
  1. To call an International number dial the full number including the Country Code without the US exit code. For example to dial to the UK you must dial the number as 44123456890
