Configuring a Proximus SIP Trunk with 3CX

Proximus SIP Trunk Provider

Step 1: Configuring your SIP Trunk with 3CX

  1. Go to the 3CX Web client and follow the guide on how to configure a SIP trunk.
  2. Enter the main trunk number in the international format (e.g. 32485550904).

Step 2: Disabling E.164 Processing

To avoid changing the format of the dialled number when using your Proximus Trunk, E.164 Processing must be disabled in 3CX.

  1. Open the 3CX Management Console and navigate to Settings → E.164 Processing.
  2. Make sure the “Process E.164 Numbers” option is checked.
  3. From the “Select Country” drop-down, change the country to any other except Belgium (preferably a country you will never dial to).
  4. Uncheck the “Process E.164 Numbers” option.
  5. Press OK.
  6. After this, 3CX will forward all numbers exactly as dialled by the users to the Providers. This is a global setting and will affect all outbound dialling regardless of which provider you will use.

Remarks / Limitations

3CX has successfully passed the official Proximus validation testing process. The following remarks / limitations were noted during the validation testing between 3CX and Proximus:

  1. Outbound calls made with a restricted caller ID will all get charged on the 3CX MCN (Main Company Number)
  2. In case of an incoming call being redirected directly to an external number, the diverted call will get charged on the 3CX MCN.
  3. In case of a Blind Call Transfer, the transferred call will get charged on the 3CX MCN.
