Configuring a Orange Business Services Romania 

Server Configuration

Orange Business Services Romania SIP Trunks are delivered with a CPE box that has a local IP Address. You will need a second dedicated NIC installed to your 3CX server which will be used for the communication between the PBX and the CPE. All the necessary IP addresses will be provided to you upon the delivery of the trunk.

You will need to configure the default 3CX server NIC to connect to your LAN which 3CX will use to talk to your IP phones and the internet. The second NIC will only be used for SIP traffic between the PBX and the Orange Business Services Romania CPE box. This NIC should not have a default gateway configured to it to avoid issues. To direct the SIP traffic through the CPE box  you will need to add some static routes on the operating system that hosts your 3CX PBX.

Your dedicated NIC will have a local IP Address. Make a note of that as you will need it when adding the trunk to your 3CX PBX.

Adding Static Routes

Windows: Open a command prompt using the “Run as Administrator” option and run the following command:

route -p add [Registrar IP] mask [IP mask] METRIC 1 [Gateway IP]

Debian: The most common way of configuring Static Routes is by adding them to /etc/network/interfaces by creating a static route under the dedicated NIC using the following format:

up ip route add [Registrar IP] via [Gateway IP] dev [NIC ID] src [NIC IP]

Notes:

• When you fill in the outbound proxy as given to you by Orange Business Services Romania, navigate to the “Options” tab and add the IP of the dedicated NIC under the “Select which IP to use in 'Contact' (SIP) and 'Connection'(SDP) fields” field.
